AT BOERNE COMMUNITY THEATRE

REGISTRATION OPENS ON APRIL 1, 2017

 MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP

Adventures of a Comic Book Artist - Everyone loves comic book superheroes, so this action-packed spoof of the comic book genre is complete with hysterical singing superheroes and dancing villains.    

Students will audition for the roles on the first day of camp.  EVERY child will be in the production.  Students will then learn songs, dances, blocking and lines. The theatre elements to be introduced will include:

  • Character Development          
  • Voice and Diction
  • Costumes/Makeup                        
  • Stage Movement          
  • Production Etiquette                    

The students will be responsible for learning the lines, songs and dances for the Musical Theatre Camp production to be performed the final weekend.

 TECHNICAL THEATRE CAMP

Students will focus on developing the basic tools and procedures for creating elements of technical theatre. The theatre elements to be introduced will include:

  • Stage elements and stage properties
  • Set and Scene Design and Construction
  • Costumes/Makeup                        
  • Sound and Lighting Design          
  • Stage Management                    

The students will be responsible for the technical elements needed for the Musical Theatre Camp in production at the same time.

 MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP

We the People - There is no better way to celebrate America than with beautiful, patriotic music — from America’s favorite anthems to poignant and uplifting original compositions.  This patriotic tableau begins as a committee discusses putting on a patriotic show for their town.  Just what does America mean to them? 

Students will audition for the roles on the first day of camp.  EVERY child will be in the production.  Students will then learn songs, dances, blocking and lines. The theatre elements to be introduced will include:

  • Character Development          
  • Voice and Diction
  • Costumes/Makeup                        
  • Stage Movement

 MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP

Hillbilly Hayride- The Tollivers and the Calhouns are always fussin’ ’an’ a-feudin’, which makes things difficult for Emmy Lou, a Tolliver, and Lee Roy, a Calhoun.  The story of the 200-year old battle even appears in a scandal sheet ’Strange But True.’ A couple of near-bankrupt New York publishing houses send agents to sign up the conflicting families.  It ain’t easy having to go to the town of Lonesome Polecat.
