The Fox on the Fairway

by Ken Ludwig
PG-rated Classic Farce

Co-Produced by
Consuelo Scanlon

directed by Keisha McFerrin

July 12 - 27, 2013

A tribute from Ken Ludwig (Lend Me A Tenor, Moon Over Buffalo) to the great English farces of the 1930s and 1940s, The Fox On the Fairway takes audiences on a hilarious romp which pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy denizens of a private country club. Filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors, and over-the-top romantic shenanigans, it's a furiously paced comedy that recalls the Marx Brothers' classics. A charmingly madcap adventure about love, life, and man's eternal love affair with… golf.

Nathan Carmines is 2013 Mardi Gras King!

The Boerne Community Theatre hosted its 6th Annual Mardi Gras Fundraising Gala at the Boerne Community Center. Over 160 guests adorned with colorful Mardi Gras beads and feather masks mingled during a cocktail reception and silent auction with items graciously donated from local Boerne businesses.

The talented BCT Singers and Teen Troupe Singers entertained party guests with a variety of Broadway musical songs. Tim Stoner, parent of two Teen Troupe performers delivered a moving speech of how his sons have found a “home” with Boerne Community Theatre Teen Troupe program and have developed confidence and other skills that will serve them well through the rest of their lives. Partygoer Nathan Carmines, was crowned the 2013 Mardi Gras King.

A lively part of the evening was led by Forres Meadows of Fundraising Auction Events as guests were given the opportunity to bid on Circle of Support Diamond Necklace donated by Americus Diamond, a Chef’s Dinner in your home prepared by Allen Rudolph, and a chance to Be a Star with a walk-on part in the upcoming production of BCT’s Fox on the Fairway. The guests were very generous when asked to help fund the landscaping project designed by Paul Barwick.

Boerne Community Theatre is grateful for the generous support of area businesses and individuals as they continue to support the Mardi Gras gala for the past several years. Over $17,000 was raised to help fund the programs and productions provided by BCT. Donors include Mercedes Benz Boerne, Frost Bank, Coby and Diana Knox, H-E-B, Sears Wealth Management of Raymond James, Bear Moon Bakery, The Dodging Duck, Plaza Package Liquors, and Penguin Suits.
